MPs. This worked out badly. Surely a pass is more advisable than 2 here.

In this scenario, would a double of 2 show diamonds or hearts? It would be a good thing to know whether they are stolen bid doubles or penalty doubles.

The double does not show Hearts. Fortunately, GIB does not play one of the worst conventions ever devised, stolen bid doubles.

Then transfers are off and 2 is to play. That is absurd with Qxxx. GIB must pass with that hand.

Disagree. The actual hand probably lacks sufficient overall strength. Make it a 6-7 count and 2S seems a big improvement over selling out at the 2 level with a known majority of strength.

Honestly I don't see this as all that bad. If you have a 2-card suit and a 3-card suit, then the capp player usually has one of those 2 suits. It's a very rare case for for the capp player to have spades. A bid that loses 6 IMPs 15% of the time and wins 2 IMPs the other 85% of the time is still worth doing (definitely not exact values).
