That would considerably improve its bidding quality.It kind of needs to count it for opening bids but I see your point- maybe after the opening bid or overcall, it doesn't count distribution until the suit is agreed. In other words, such that even an inexperienced bridge player easily knows how GIB arrived at the amount of total points it is claiming to have.
