Is 4H unbeatable?

After a bit of misplay I was expecting a disastrous IMPs score on this deal:

[hv=pc=n&s=sa93hj96dkq985cq6&w=skqj875h84dacaj94&n=s6hakq75dt62c7532&e=st42ht32dj743ckt8&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1n2s3hp4hppp]399|300[/hv]

But no table made game. One table made 10 tricks, but unluckily for them, they were in 5. We went three down.

I remarked, after my partner had left, that I was certain the contract is unbeatable if declarer guesses the diamonds right. It doesn't need any advanced play.

Unless someone tells me otherwise.

[edit] It fails on a club or diamond lead. On our table a spade was led.

You can make on a spade (or heart) lead,

1) Win A

2) 2 rounds of trump

3) Diamond to king

4) Eventually draw last round of trump and run 10.

Certainly the defense can take diamond ace, 2 top clubs, and arrange a diamond ruff on a club or diamond lead, but a spade lead looks almost automatic.

As you have noticed, a D or low C beats it, anything else and it makes. Double Dummy of course, but in this case I think unimportant.

Note that you don't have to put a lot of thought into that analysis (although I might recommend it). You don't need to ask the community; just click on the "GIB" button in the hand diagram.
