olegru
Sorry for oftopic. When I just moved to New York from Russia and got my first job here I had to send email to several people about errors in script I found.Instead of word "erroneous" I typed "erogenous". ... In about the same time I sent another email about incorrectness in some excel spreadsheet. The final sentence of my email supposed to be "I am advising to stop using that sheet." You can guess what kind of mistake I made in a word "sheet." In about 5 minutes after clicking the send button I got a phone call from my boss. He said that he completely sharing my opinion about that document, but here in USA we are not using some words in official emails. The funnies thing that wrong word did not change meaning of my message even a bit. Edited October 5, 2016 by olegru
sfi
stoppiello 18 - sfi 14 and I thought I had a terrible set, bridge is such a funny game I'll take that! I was sure I was down 30 after that set. At least we have 48 more hands to try and play some good bridge. :)

nullve
http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:05d8a6ab.8ba8.11e6.8e99.0cc47a39aeb4-1475746445&u=smerrimansmerriman 24 - nullve 20 Wow. I was down by 4 IMPs after 63 boards, then took a gamble and had a 5 IMP swing on the last hand to win by 1 IMP overall.I was torn between 3♠ and 4♠ when deciding to preempt on that hand. I expected you to bid 3♠ and I felt I might need a swing because of the self-inclicted small disaster on board 7 and a couple of potentially catastrophic passes (on boards 6 and 15) by GiB. Unfortunately, I went for the "normal" 3♠ and it didn't occur to me to continue with 4♠. Although I'm sure I made some horrible mistakes (the "misguess" on board 9, set 3, being an obvious candidate), I'm quite happy with the way I played in this match except for the nullo play on board 3 of the 3rd set, which cost an extra undertrick and, of course, 2 IMPs, more than the margin of victory. It's also a small consolation that my MP score was 54.6875 %. Anyway: good luck in R8, smerriman!
