MrAce
Very normal not to dbl IMO.
rmnka447
It doesn't look like you've got more than a part score. So I'm not sure DBL is right here. Any positive is a par result in part score hands at IMPs.

wank
Of course noone has a penalty double but west has a takeout orientated double which is what double should be.
helene_t
East could stretch to a double if his 1♠ overcall could be a lot weaker than this (say 6 HCPs), but W would take it out to 4♠ imo which should show something like this due to his failure to raise before. On a very good day you can make 4♠ but I agree with others that the auction is normal.
The_Badger
hi ahydra, Even though you hold the other three suits between you, North has opened at the one level as opposed to pre-empted, and then bid 4♥ without any help from partner. Anything can happen with wild(ish) distribution. I'd quietly take a plus score if one exists. No double, no trouble applies both ways. ggwhiz
East can anticipate good defensive prospects in the black suits and a 10 count or so in the west hand. That said a double would be either inspired or reckless when west also has skewed shape so pass is normal.
Kaitlyn S
I'm not sure I want to double even seeing both defenders' hands! I think the only thing that changes for me seeing both hands is that I table a trump instead of the DJ.

This says most of what I wanted to say, every chance declarer has x, AQJxxxx, A, Qxx or similar, and on a diamond lead it's just laydown. ahydra
Thanks all for the replies. I was East, and ggwhiz pretty much summed up my thoughts at the table: East can anticipate good defensive prospects in the black suits and a 10 count or so in the west hand. That said a double would be either inspired or reckless when west also has skewed shape so pass is normal. Given that the North player in question does like to bid a lot, and it looked like we had the other three suits covered (plus the fact I've been reading too many Fluffy posts :)), my instinct was to double but I wimped out in the end as the hands are clearly distributional and a surprise shortage in dummy could allow not only a ruff but an entry to finesse partner's diamond or something like that. North had ♠5 ♥AKQ8762 ♦A92 ♣75 and we beat 4H by two tricks. ahydra
