bridgepali
B-) I find under trump play that a partnership with 19+ hcpts. has a high percentage four level penalty double and when having 16+ hcpts. a five level when the below provisos are in place. - Opener opened with at least 13pts. - Responder responded with at least 8 pts. - Doubler has three cards of opponent's trump strain. - Doubler's point count is void of a singleton king, queen, doubleton queen. B-) Watch for Talking Pts. X

manudude03
"High percentage" really doesn't mean much. The good players will know whether or not their hand is good, and the weak players will find your method useless. Offensive potential and defensive potential can fluctuate a lot depending on opps holdings (unless you have a magic system that tells you what the opponents have). The most extreme case I've seen at the table is someone having AQ AKxxx AKxx xx and found himself not being able to defeat 6S (I'll ignore the Moonraker hand as it is fictional). I also had a hand a few weeks ago where my 2335 one count took 4 tricks defending a spade contract.

1eyedjack
Darn. y'all couldn't resist the temptation to respond. Still, damage done now, so my post doesn't matter.
The_Badger
hi bridgepali, Beyond the general statistics of your post, how many bridge hands have you analysed, and at what level, and how do you exactly establish the actual point count between the two hands when playing so as to double? (Not that high card points are any indication of whether you can beat a contract.) It's good to analyse bridge hands and try to work things out, but there's so many variables involved you need to go back to the drawing board, I feel. Vampyr
There are some very good players on these forums who could tell you where you are going wrong if you would take the time to engage with them.
