Phil
Maybe its not the intent, but after a close match, the last thing I would do is post a hand my teammate got wrong. Excellent match however, WD forums against a tough lineup.
diana_eva
I suppose he's just worried that his 2H overcall gave away the diamonds. At our table opps passed and eagles had to guess diamonds at the end.

mgoetze
The 2♥ overcall doesn't really serve a purpose at IMPs and this vulnerability, it would be automatic at w/r and justifiable at even. Of course it doesn't "disclose" the ♦Q but it does shift the probabilities in favor of it being with South. To be honest I can't see anything very special in the play of the hand. The_Badger
It's good to watch such a close match. Given that the four Forum members have to form spur of the moment partnerships, unlike the established and well-drilled Jimmy Cayne team, they should be proud of their achievement, even though they lost narrowly. I've seen established partnerships regularly hammered by Jimmy's team. Sometimes I lose interest watching JEC matches when the opponents are down by 40 or so IMPs halfway through. Today, I watched to the end, regularly switching between tables. Well done!
Wackojack
The lesson from this hand is nothing to do with the 2♥ overcall. It is how a great player finds out where the opponents’ cards lie. Benito ruffed the 2nd heart in hand and then played out his remaining spades to see what he could discover. So at trick 10 he knew that he could squeeze South if he had the Q♦. Csaba kept his J♥ so at trick 11 Benito would know that either: (i) South had successfully been squeezed starting out with ♥AKxxx and ♦ Qxxx or (ii) South was not squeezed having started out with ♥AKJxxx and ♦xxx. Which was more likely? The 2♥ overcall was not a giveaway. It made it more difficult for Benito to read the situation. Suppose South did not overcall. Then Benito has less of a guess. He would surmise that with ♥AKJxxx, and ♣Q109, South would certainly have overcalled and thus the Q♦ was going to drop regardless of which hand it is in. Wackojack
It is interesting to speculate the outcome had Csaba thrown his J♥rather than his last club. Then at trick 10, South might have had ♥K, ♦x, ♣6. It would then come down to whether or not South would lead 9♣ from ♣Q1096 and then keep his 6♣ knowing that it was useless.
