Might be influenced by how many diamonds and spades opener has shown. On the second, what system is being played. I knew that, but it looked like S can't have 4 either in quite a lot of Acol type systems so partner has 6 and hasn't bid, so likely has 6 not good enough to get anywhere. Did the 1♠ rebid imply an unbalanced hand? 2. ♠K Again, Trying to beat the contract The problem is that a top spade could well be the only lead which allows the contract to make!.
