Opponents are S.Skorchev and B. Popov.

I rank

  1. 4N = T/O. Attempt to right-side contract.
  2. Double = Competitive.
  3. 5 = NAT
  4. 5 = CUE but might exagerate holding.

The problem with 4NT is that it is undiscussed, all of Keycard, minors and natural make some sense to me. Probably minors, but then, why do we need to ask for minors when partner doubled 5?.

Double here shouldn't be pure penalty, just show ownership of the hand.

Bidding on is the right thing, because it lets you double them at the 5 level instead of 4, which is better... in theory

At the other table they played 4 doubled, declarer saw a chance of making if both majors broke evenly, and went for it... for -800. This play was suposedly not bad, but hopeless, because at the other side of the screen south had alerted a north 3 bid as: no 4-c major, maximum, better diamonds than clubs and spade stopper.

While at the other side according to the spannish player the spade stopper part was missed. True or not, it wasn't missed by north when he was later asked by director so no ruling was possible. This is a reminder for everyone: Ask for alerts to be written down in paper.
