A few suggestions:

 

1, Filtering: I'd like to see all my friends listed + all the hungarians. That doesn't seem possible, if I choose only the hungarians show up, my non-hungarian friends will not show, if I choose all, I will see my friends on the top of the list, but not the hungarians.

 

Give us more ways to select.

 

2, There should be an away status (something like brb), but it would be the software itself to determine it. So If I lave my comp for 20 mins (or even if I do not do any action on BBO) and I do not choose brb, the other users would be still notified: "hey, this user might not be here".

Others have asked for various new ways to do filtering in the past.

 

The problem is that there are a lot of possible ways that one might reasonably want to combine the filters. Being able to use arbitrary "and"s "or"s and "not"s would be necessary in order to make everyone happy. In order to implement something like this, we would need a big and complicated "advanced" dialog that would be overwhelming to most of our members.

 

Maybe we will do this one day, but this does not fall into what I would call the "high priority" category.

 

We have toyed with the idea of having some kind of inactivity timer. Probably something along the lines that you mention will eventually appear in the software, but it is hard to predict when that might be. Again this is not something that we consider to be "high priority".

 

Suggestions are always welcome. Sorry if it is not practical for us to implement all of our members ideas immediately (even those that we agree with).
