shyams
As I am to play triangle matches with thymepuns and steve2005, I was wondering if the other two are OK with the following: 1. Each challenge is a 14-board Matchpoints (i.e. BAM) format. 2. Best Hand option will be used throughout. 3. Each player sets up two challenge matches (total boards in the triangle = 84, boards to be played by each player = 56) thymepuns and I finished our set of 2 matches (14-boards each, BAM)--- Overall, I lost 13 - 15. Of the 28 boards, we tied 12, I won 7, and thymepuns won 9.--- Result overviews here: (Part 1) and (Part 2) I'm waiting for steve2005 to accept the challenge so that we can begin our match. MrAce
So how many boards are we supposed to play against each other? MrAce and I only played 1 16-board match, smerriman and TylerE played 4. 64 boards over 2 weeks seems reasonable. If you want to go 64 boards that is fine with me. It is fun. But at the end, regardless of who wins, I will ask you to continue and let me be eliminated because I really did not like the BAM thing with GIB. barmar
Just played the second segment, MrAce crushed me by 24 IMPs. http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:38dfda13.2c85.11e6.a318.0cc47a39aeb4-1465286137&u=barmar On board 1 don't know what I was thinking. First I blocked the diamonds, then I miscounted hearts. On 10 MrAce psyched a 1♦ opening, and that somehow got the robot to invite the 50% slam. I bid normally, and the robot decided not to invite. Not sure why. On the other hand, his psyche on board 7 didn't work so well. On 14 I decided not to try to guess which red suit finesse to take, and hoped LHO would have ♦Qx or maybe RHO could be end-played. MrAce guessed right. On 15 I took the low road, MrAce invited, and everything worked.

manudude03
I'm reluctant to post this, but I just finished my 64 board match with P_Marlowe playing IMPs (best hand) and ended up winning by the rather flattering scoreline of 160-40. Board 5 : I Went down due to 4-0 trumps. I sent the 3rd round of 16.

(showing the ♠Q held by me)It is clear that North had ♠AKxxxxx. If North also has ♣K, a grand slam is cold. So I bid 5NT (query kings); North bid 6♥ to show ♥K and deny ♣K. How good is a grand slam in spades? I chose not to bid it, and lost the board.

Hi Phil, If Jeff doesn't get back to you, I'd be happy to play. Your call between IMPs or BAMBoard length either 48 or 64 Boards. barmar
Our 3rd set with Barmar this time I am crushed. Barmar 21-Timo 2These hands seemed pretty boring to me, I had a feeling your aggressive style might work against you. And you tried another 1♦ opener on 11 that bit you. I was a little surprised you didn't bid game on 9, since I was on the fence. I lost those 2 IMPs there because I chose to play opener for ♠K, so tried to drop it singleton. I was right about his shape. :( http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:50adebc4.2db3.11e6.a318.0cc47a39aeb4-1465415885&u=barmar
