BBF Challenge Event Registrations

I'll kick this off with a registration thread. Richard will follow up with format and other.

A few technical details:

1) To create a challenge or accept a challenge invitation, you need to log on the web version of BBO (go to www.bridgebase.com, click Login/Register, log in with your usual username and password)

2) You'll see a Challenge button on the main screen, or you can get there via Competitive > Challenges

3) To start a Friend Challenge, click "Challenge a Friend". If you start the challenge, you have to wait until your friend accepts it before you can play your boards. Make sure your opponent knows you've issued a challenge so he can accept it in time.

4) Friend Challenges expire in 3 days. You and your opp don't have to be online at the same time to start or complete a challenge. Play your set of boards any time but pay attention to the expiration date (it''s displayed in your own time zone)

5) A picture is worth a thousand words. Here's a dummy guide to create and play challenges:

OK, here is the plan

I am going to take the list here.

One Friday evening (EST), I will close registration and send out the initial round of matchings for a single elimination tournament.

Matchings will be made completely at random, as will first round byes.

Folks will have until the evening of Sunday, June 11th to play their first set of hands.

I would like people to play a minimum of 48 boards. Folks are able to increase this number if they both agree to do so before the start of their round

The event will default to MP (which is the same as BAM). However, if both players agree, they can use IMPs instead.

In both cases, if there is a disagreement, the defaults holds.

The event should be conducted as a bilateral challenge.

Player A will challenge player B for 50% of the Boards.

Player B will challenge player A for the remaining 50%

If you fail to play out your boards, scoring will default to BAM and your opponent will score +1 per board that they completed.

If folks want to use the results to seed a ladder, more power to them...
