The toponomastic of Bari, realized in illuministic period, is like a chessboard. I live in at five blocks away Petruzzeli theater. Although this topic is opened for everyone that want to condivide the same things i've done for the city which lives in.

I've lived in California for 30 years and we've had our share of tremors, although nearly all of the major ones I have been experienced were from 1988 - 1996.

Its just part of life here, and when they happen its always alarming, but you just hope you aren't near the epicenter, or in an old building with unreinforced masonry or a parking garage.

(translation about NESSUNA PREVISIONE=) NOTHING IN "We are not able to predict when and how this earthquake sequence will wane, and we can not theoretically exclude other strong earthquakes even more than those that occurred to date in the areas adjacent to those affected in recent months," says the National research Council - Institute of Environmental Geology and Geoengineering. According to the National Research Council "if one part this sequence is highly disturbing, on the other hand, the lateral propagation causes that occur a series of strong earthquakes but not very strong. Much worse would be if all these segments of faults (Amatrice ,Visso, Norcia) they had moved all together generating an earthquake measuring at least 7.0. " The one that generated the earthquake in Rieti and the provinces of Perugia and Macerata is a very complex system of faults. "If we study the San Andreas Fault, which runs through California to 1300 km, we are faced with a continuous object - name Gianluca Valensise, coordinator of the Management Committee of the seismological projects INGV -. When an earthquake occurs along that fault line, to take steps are different portions of the same system. Study faults fragment like those dell'Appenino is instead completely different. " Small fissures, but "linked together in a dynamic relationship", which is what kicked off the latest telluric sequences. This'' domino effect 'of which you speak is all here. "It should be said that if on one hand this sequence is worrying, on the other hand, the lateral propagation causes occur a series of strong earthquakes but not very strong - continues Messina -. Much worse would be if all these segments of the fault they moved together, generating an earthquake measuring at least 7 ". [The problem is that this eartquacke seems endless with negative previsions about future and it is not good for people that have no time to be quite necessarly (it is said of 5000 monumemts falled down, 40.000 people out of own houses and many old building destruited in these little towns)]. http://www.lastampa.it/2016/10/30/italia/cronache/non-si-pu-escludere-un-altra-scossa-forte-leffetto-domino-potrebbe-durare-vari-mesi-Hxo9ZSofdK53XSAC5EpVRJ/pagina.html

As mentioned above, the Finance G7 will be held in Bari from 11 to 13 May in conjunction with the celebration on 8 May for the Holy Patron Saint Nicholas. The meeting will take place in the Svevo Castle and this event will give great visibility to my city as well as make great efforts to ensure the safety of the participants. I think that you will be able to see parts of the city such as the Margherita, Petruzzelli and Piccinni theaters (overlooking the Palazzo di Città), the Cavour and Vittorio Emanuele Avenues and the Lungomare Boulevard.

I open a parenthesis to tell an anecdote of real life. Three or four weeks ago, going to a restaurant, I saw a limousine with tinted windows on the side of the road and a big truck with cinema equipment across the street. They were setting up a set (on the third floor of the building they had spread a black cloth that covered the whole window) and it was on the back of the Petruzzelli Theater. The director was the Roman Carlo Verdone. Yesterday I leave the same restaurant and turning on the other side of the road I see at the bottom again a big truck and the partially cordoned road. This time there was a surprise: the actress was famous and was Sophia Loren, the director was the son of Carlo Ponti, Edoardo Ponti. Some scenes look like they will be shot on the rooftops of the Old Town(=Bari Vecchia) and others in Torre a Mare, a suburb of Bari. In that restaurant I had the opportunity to meet in the years also: the singer Milva, Anna Oxa with the whole family when she won the Festival of Sanremo and once entering Lucio Dalla, famous Bolognese songwriter.

Sophia Loren arrives and Bari stops. On paper it promises to be a month of passion that will paralyze the circulation and parking of cars in the city for the filming of the film The Life Before It From 2 July, until 3 August. Interpreted precisely by Sophia Loren, who fully embodies the history of Italian cinema (and not only), "La vita davanti a sé" is directed by Edoardo Ponti, the actress's son, and arrives in Bari after almost two armored weeks of filming at Trani.

To scroll the overview of traffic restrictions, announced by the Municipality, and to consult online at www.comune.bari.it, the old quarters of Bari, the Murattiano, the Madonnella and the Liberty will be more affected by the establishment of the ban on parking and the transit between some portions of Corso Vittorio Emanuele and Corso Cavour, via Cognetti and piazza Eroi del Mare, piazza Chiurlia and the Lungomare Augusto waterfront, only to indicate some of the dozens of streets and squares that will be affected by the prohibitions. Without prejudice to the fact that the limitations will not be permanent, but subordinated to the schedule of filming communicated in advance by the production.

"It is an honor in the meantime to be able to welcome a queen of cinema, and not only, like Sofia Loren - comments Antonio Parente, director of the Apulia film commission - who represents for us all a piece of the history of our country. At the same time we are proud to have been chosen by the production and by Edoardo Ponti, who objectively had several alternatives at hand ". To make the landing of this set possible, of course, are the support of the Apulia film commission and, Parente stresses, "the interaction with the Municipality of Bari. As far as we are concerned we have facilitated the organization of services, recruitment of the workers and the choice of locations ". An operational support, therefore, that of the Afc. Yeah, but where will it turn? "Meanwhile, La vita davanti a sé will not only be filmed, but set in Bari - pressed Parente - although the film includes lengthy interior workings. But it is certain that the film will feature the Redentore institute, the North seafront between the Fair of Levant and San Girolamo, the old city, the hypogeum of Villa Giustiniani. What is certain is that the sea of Bari will be among the protagonists ".

(FROM La Repubblica.it:Sophia Loren turns to Bari and the city stops: traffic stops and parking bans. "Here the history of cinema"

From 2 July, shooting of the film directed by Edoardo Ponti, the actress's son, inspired by the novel 'La vita davanti a sé ' and already at the center of a 1977 Oscar-winning film. Restrictions on circulation and parking throughout the center, linked to the shooting schedule. Relative: "Bari not only background but protagonist"

Hidden Europe: the ten places to visit. And in fifth place is Bari

Lonely Planet travel experts have scoured little-known coasts, cities and regions of Europe in search of the best places to visit this year. From the forests populated by bears to the towns edged with vineyards, the 10 chosen destinations are, for the guide, the most interesting of the continent at the moment: a mix of old regenerated glories and lesser-known wonders. And, in fifth place, there is also an Italian town: Bari, with its historic center, shops and restaurants. Here is the complete ranking.

1 - ALTI TATRA (Slovakia): an imposing mountain range with slanting peaks and roaring waterfalls where the snow willow cloaks the slopes and fearsome animals patrolling the forests.

2 - MADRID (Spain): it has re-emerged from the economic recession of the country, returning to its usual rhythm with renewed vigor. The nightlife of the capital, among the most lively in Europe, continues to improve.

3 - ARTIC COAST WAY (Iceland): millions of people visit it every year, but most focus on Reykjavík and the famous Golden Circle. Some intrepid soul heads west, or even to the far east, but very few head north - at least so far.

4 - HERZEGOVINA (Bosnia and Herzegovina): the magnificent Stari Most bridge in Mostar immediately comes to mind. But it is also possible to reach Dubrovnik through the unspoilt countryside.

5 - BARI (Italy): always the starting point for tourists en route to the great protagonists of Puglia, located further south, is experiencing its spring: a rather neglected time, this port city that protrudes from the Italian heel, enjoys of a revival matured over a decade.

6 - SHETLAND (Scotland): this windswept and dispersed archipelago in the North Sea is the destination of the most daring travelers, who are rewarded with magnificent coastal paths, an amazing wildlife and fabulous places that serve fish and chips, and maybe a small glass or two of whiskeys offered by one of the friendly and proud inhabitants of the islands.

7 - LYON (France): it is beautiful, thanks to the two riversides (the Rhone and the Saône); she is obsessed with food (her bistros, boulangeries and bouchons are even legendary); and is cultured (the repertoire of the Lyon musées ranges from the Confluences to the Gadagne).

8- LIECHTENSTEIN: do you dream of visiting an entire country in a weekend? Here is the perspective offered by the small but charming Liechtenstein. During the celebrations for the three hundred years of the birth of the nation the Liechtenstein Trail will be inaugurated, a picturesque 75 km hiking trail that winds through peaks and pastures touching all 11 towns in the country.

9 - VEVEY (Switzerland): more caps than ever in 2019 with the Fête des Vignerons that will be celebrated in July. This three-week wine event, which takes place only every twenty years from the 18th century, is a riot of costumed shows, cow bell parades, alphorn concerts, and, if you can find the time, the chance to taste some excellent pinot and chasselas of the area from the stalls and cellars that open their doors to visitors.

10 - ISTRIA (Croatia): start with the story (the imposing Roman Amphitheater of Pula and the mosaics of Porec, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, just for a taste), then move to the beach (at Mills for the atmosphere or Felsen Strand for solitude), and crown it all with the most recent additions to the tourist repertoire: a gourmet cycling route in the spring, music festivals in the summer, and excursions in search of truffles in the fall.
