Tramticket
Much depends on your standards for a Michaels bid. If your minimum for this bid is 5HCP ... But opps rate to have at least a 10-card club fit, so you are worth competing to at least 3H (not an option in your poll ☺).

Not vul this can be as little as ♠ Q J x x x ♥ Q J x x x ♦ x ♣ x x Here, assuming that partner is just showing the majors, I rank2N = ASK, then show ♦ and try for slam,3♣ = CUE. Then slam-try in ♥.4♥ = S/O.3♦ = NAT F1.5♦ = NAT.2♦ = NAT[/hv]

I'm of the old school where a direct cue bid of theenemy suit showed a rock crusher of a hand equivlant of a 2♣opener and forcing to at least Game.It gravitates back to the old chestnut of partnership agreement. mcphee
Partner has shown majors 5/5 or longer and the question is (to me) will I make a game in H? An agreement on how to advance to define the value of partners hand helps. Many play weak or strong, some play any hand for the 2C bid with the focus on shape. How your partnership defines the response to 2N (inquiry) depends on you. Game in diamonds is also possible, but all revolves around asking and telling. GrahamJson
5D looks like a reasonable punt to me, unless partner is of the sort who bids Michaels on tram tickets.
masse24
IS it a Michaels bid(?)Of course it's Michaels. The OP shows it as 5/5 Majors.
fourdad
I value this hand at 18 TP's and do not hesitate to bid 4H.

SteveMoe
Playing 2N as 3 card LR+ and 3♣ as 4+ GF. Plan 2N then 4♦ if possible, 4N if not.
Phil
2D if I'm feeling scientific but at the table I'd probably just bash 4H.

Caitlynne
I don't like any of the alternatives listed. I would just bid 5D. You can't bid with precision here. All I know is would not be that unusual to make 5D. AQ of hearts and King of spades with partner gives us a chance. I also know that diamonds are going to be trump on this deal unless they are playing 6Cx. You see, when you play with me there is a special name given to my strong 8 card suits: TRUMPS!

P_Marlowe
4H, but I miss 5D. First of all, I want to be in game, I am not sure, if 5D has better oddsthan 4H. With kind regardsMarlowe
