Not sure why GIB didn't show hearts on the second round.

The issue here is that when you bid 1♥, you promised 5+ CLUBS, so it was setting the contract in your longer suit. The 'correct' bid here is Pass, as ugly as that sounds.

How much would you know about Gib CC in this hand?

I would guess little is known about the details.it is not surprising for such dismal results,would you know you have made several serious mistakes? now I replayed it twice, the standard bidding sequences go :

Note the following double from any seat, it is only for penalty.

You made serious mistake twice - responding 1♥ ,especially after opp's 2♦, you should double for penalty instead of rebid-2♠. A pity you missed that beer.

I think every bid after the first two are totally wrong.

 

xx - don't like it with the singleton spade

p - why not the obvious spade bid? I don't think this hand is quite strong enough to do the pass then spades advanced/expert trick (to show strongish hand suggesting that either the opener or redoubler might be light or psychic), replaces 2S call since normally jumps are weak after redouble.

1h - normal to pass to look for penalties after doubler runs

 

and the next round of bidding is just as bad.

The description of Gib's 3♣ bid is ridiculous. Says 2-4♣. Do you mean Gib will bid 3♣ on 2♣. Crazy.

No matter how bad the previous bidding was, why doesn't GIB support hearts? OP doesn't say whether this is IMPs or MPs, but hearts is higher scoring for MPs, and the most likely game. By supporting clubs instead of hearts, you are almost never going to end up in hearts.

Yes, I agree that North should raise hearts at his first opportunity. This being the GIB forum, I was just trying to steer the conversation away from what human South might have done differently to discuss what North should be programmed to do differently.
