NickRW
If it is not some sort of April fool's day hack, then one wonders about the American legal system (again!)
ArtK78
Seems like an April Fool's joke to me. Let's see what happens in a few hours. EDIT: On rereading the post on the Bridgewinners site, there are several things about the post that just don't ring true. I am convinced that it is an April Fool's joke. helene_t
You can still get into the site via various direct links such as for example https://bridgewinners.com/article/view/director-call-2nd-level-thinking-in-the-platinum-pairs/?cj=332775#c332775 which contains a post from three hours ago. That suggests that it is an April joke. But it is a weird way of making a joke, to make your whole site almost inaccessible.

gordontd
Seems like an April Fool's joke to me. Let's see what happens in a few hours. EDIT: On rereading the post on the Bridgewinners site, there are several things about the post that just don't ring true. I am convinced that it is an April Fool's joke.If so, they left it rather late in the day to implement. Or maybe they don't realise that other countries have different time-zones. helene_t
But if you try to navigate within the site you are directed back to the notice.Depends which links you follow. You can for example still find threads via the recent updates list, and you can vote in polls.
hrothgar
I have to believe that this is an April Fools joke. Pretty damn good one, though...

lamford
The poker sites www.fulltilt.com and www.pokerstars.com were closed down by the DOJ and now default to an address in your country, so I would not be surprised if this is real, possibly by one or more of the alleged cheaters. lilboyman
First Amendment, being about free speech, makes it unlikely that any judge, even a Florida judge, would issue an injunction on the grounds suggested in the Bridge Winners post. Even the posting of the site closing would have violated the injunction. Conclusion: APRIL FOOL.
billw55
Agree a joke. I think they should have hammed it up a bit more though. It's a little bland as is.
blackshoe
my first reaction was "wtf?" My second was "oh, right, April 1". We'll see.
crazy4hoop
Gotta love April 1. If this had been real, we might have read something along the lines of "We need your help. In order to attain effective counsel we need our readership to step up and donate $10 each so we can afford something more than some public defender greener than the pass cards. Payment is as simple as purchasing an NABC entry online through our site. Thank you for your understanding." I'm no lawyer but believe if this had been real they would have asked for money (again). helene_t
Very strange. It looks normal except that no content has been added for five hours. And some pages like the intermediate forum are still in April Fool mode.

Vilgan
My assumption is that this is real. They had a great April Fools system previously, letting people create articles and tag it April Fools and this isn't at all funny (imo). The ability to get there via https is likely an oversight when implementing the injunction if they only forwarded port 80 but not 443.
weejonnie
You can get on but if you try using the drop-down menus you get forwarded to the message. However you can back-arrow to the list of articles and re-select. Hope this gets sorted quickly.
1eyedjack
It seems odd that such a diverse group of individuals as some who have been banned from the site for policy violations and some who have been accused on the site of cheating should band together to act as joint litigants in an application for injunction.
