This seems simple enough. If you have 2 hearts and 2 spades, why would you pass 2 hearts when you could have changed it to 2 spades? And not only that, it caused them to miss 4 spades so I got like 8.4 IMPs just for this.
1eyedjack
And not only that, it caused them to miss 4 spades so I got like 8.4 IMPs just for this. This surprises me. As you the human were effectively a spectator in the auction I would expect it to be replicated throughout the room, so no IMP gain.
Bbradley62
This surprises me. As you the human were effectively a spectator in the auction I would expect it to be replicated throughout the room, so no IMP gain.Except if it was played in MBC with humans sitting E/W at other tables. AyunuS
In the other tables the robots bid it correctly. Maybe basic GIB can do it correctly but not advanced GIB or something like that, idk. But it looked like most of the other tables were played by GIB. 1eyedjack
It could be argued that 2C is non-forcing, and West's choice to introduce Hearts when he could have passed, in the expectation that his LHO may well have 4 of them, might indicate an expectation that West's hearts are pretty robust. 2S correction is still correct, but the expected gain is probably not great. I don't understand why I cannot find this hand in MyHands. Any ideas?
iandayre
I suspect it has to do with the fact that GIB N doubled, while many humans would overcall 2D.
