Our partnership only reached 3NT <_< I browsed thru the hand record. Found that only one pair reach 7♣x and it is just by means of a blast. ;) One pair reached 7NTxx and of course North can't find the killing lead of D. :) Is there any way to reach 7♣ by any of your favorite method? I would be impressed with any non-relay pair who could confidently find this one. It is always very difficult when you have a void in partner's best suit. Guest Jlall
1C 1D1H 2S4C 4N5S 6C would probably be my auction.
twcho
Jlall, I guess you have started the bidding by East. It is West, who has long D, being the dealer. Will this affect your auction?

whereagles
I'd go with something like 1D 2C3D 3H3NT 4C4NT 6NT? 4NT = misfit (not RKCB)6NT = I would bid this, though I'm sure my regular pard would come up with some silly bid here that might drive us to 7C.. lol <_<
cherdano
I'd go with something like 1D 2C3D 3H3NT 4C4NT 6NT? 4NT = misfit (not RKCB)6NT = I would bid this, though I'm sure my regular pard would come up with some silly bid here that might drive us to 7C.. lol :) Why 6NT and not 6♣? You may be able to establish the diamond suit with ruffs for heart discards. It's not like you expect partner with ♥AK, and not like you expect trump losers... whereagles
6NT is more frightening for opps :) Well, ok. I missed 6C which is probably a better bid :)
Fluffy
Is there any way to reach 7♣ by any of your favorite method? SImply no because my start would either be 1♦-2♣-3♦ or 1♦-2♣-2♥. So my best possible contract is 7♥ (and not after a good bidding).
pclayton
Awkward hand. With West dealer: 2♣ - 2N3♦ - 4♣4♦ - 6♣6N - Pass 2♣ = 4-5 losers, 5+ controls2N = 4 controls After 6♣, responder is marked with a solid club suit, and the outside card must be the K♠, so 6N looks golden. I can't diagnose the dimond void here.
Guest Jlall
sorry...retarded...if the auction starts with west then 1D 2C2D 3C3D 3H3N 4C4H 4S5N 6C 3N a distinct underbid but it looks like a misfit at that point.
Free
With my f2f partner: 1♣ - 1♠1NT - 2♥2♠ - 4♣4♦ - 4NT5♣ - 5♦5♥ - 6♦7♣ West only bids relays (except 1♣ = 15+ any, and 4♦ end signal in case responder is minimum)1♠ shows GF with 4+♥2♥ shows exactly 4♥ and 5+♣4♣ shows a 2-4-0-74NT shows 10 SlamPoints5♦ shows 0 or 3 tophonours ♣6♦ shows exactly 1 tophonour ♥, 1 or 2 tophonours ♠ and ♣J So opener can construct responder's hand:KxQxxx-AKQJxxxand easily bid 7♣
