MrAce
4 ♠ Pass is reasonable if he is known to open like me.
rmnka447
4 ♠ also. You seem to have at least 3 1/2 tricks for partner and potential additional tricks in both ♣ and ♥ with plenty of entries. Unless partner has opened super aggressively with some real trash, game ought to have a decent chance of success.
WesleyC
I'd pass if partner was 1st seat but raise if partner was 2nd seat. These two auctions are quite different and most players underestimate just how much having an opponent pass in front of you changes the nature of a deal! Huh, I really thought I had included that info. Sorry, it's 1st seat. Edited the post.
Mbodell
I'd bid 4. But it is close at mp.
oryctolagi
3 3N3NT with spades blocked and possibly no side entry? Braver than me!
gwnn
3NT with spades blocked and possibly no side entry? Braver than me!I believe this was the result of an overflow error (nige1 meant to write -7). This bug will be corrected in nige1.5 or nige2.0 at the latest. helene_t
I don't think 3NT makes any sense at IMPs since if p has an entry and solid spades we almost certainly make 4♠ as well. Of course it could be a winner at matchpoints.
kuhchung
I respect whenever nige1 posts to play problems, and I respect about the first 15% of his bidding choices
Fluffy
I think 4♠ is totally obvious. ♠KQ gives us 9 easy tricks and 0-3 ways to get a 10th.
