Jinksy
Try and guess the bidding sequence that landed EW is 3♠ (off 1, with 5♦ making): [hv=pc=n&w=skj54haj9742dq93c&e=sq9hdat8754cqj752]266|100[/hv] E dealer. NV vul, IMP scoring in case relevant. No unusual conventions involved.
manudude03
No unusual conventions, so fairly common conventions fine? South opens 1NT, West bids 2C for the majors, East bids 2S as they don't have a natural 2D available, West bids 3H, and East corrects back to 3S which becomes the final contract? Jinksy
Also nice try, but no. I will confirm that E passed as dealer (sanely?)
apollo1201
With a more robust D suit like AQJxxx and 5 small C' I'd probably open some number of Ds and W would propell me'into game very soon. Here with this more balanced 2-suiter I've always been told pass and show your 2 suits in one bid later. So original pass can't be criticized too much imo.So maybePass 1C 1H 1NT 2D 3C 3S all pass But if E mentions his D, W is criminal not to fit them... Jinksy
I'm enjoying these efforts, but also not right :) The actual sequence: [hv=d=e&v=0&b=14&a=p1c3hppdppr(Hoping%20to%20hell%20it's%20rescue%20as%20passed%20hand)p3spp(No%20dbl%2C%20no%20trbl)p]133|100[/hv]

Jinksy
Sure. I was E, and certainly not expecting 3♠ to be the final spot. I was wondering whether if I bid 3N over an X of 3♠, partner would read it as this hand. It seemed like it would be clearer after the X than before, and at this vul, I didn't really mind drifting 5 off undoubled :P
