billw55
Tricky. Partner is short in diamonds, so the chances he holds some spades are quite good. But the same can be said of LHO. Well, it's just a game and I have to bid something, so 4♠. I also have shortness, and I upgrade ♣Q9x on the grounds that the club opening is more likely to be a real suit after the preempt. Plus vul at IMPs, yak yak

Jinksy
I'll try X, planning to pull 4♥ to 4♠. Hopefully at this level P will just take that as showing something in the black suits.
mgoetze
X is going to hurt too much if West bids 5♦ and partner then bids 5♥. I'm strongly tempted to just pass.
apollo1201
Steal this 4D bid from E's bidding box, he's causing too much trouble. I'm tempting X as my D length makes it unlikely that W will do something so partner should be able to bid at the 4 level and I can handle - running from 4H to 4S and leaving 4S and 5C (Q9x plus side AK and singleton should please partner).
shyams
Looks tough. I pass. After all, partner may still have a hand suitable for a takeout double in the passout position.

diana_eva
OK I also doubled and corrected partner's 4♥ to 4♠, down 1. Turns out it didn't matter, because at the other table there was no 4♦ and 3NT was bid and made. I was just curious if it's right to bid (and what) with 4 diamonds. Perhaps your teammate should have also bid 4♦.

You have a lot of losers with those 4 diamonds. I would go cautious here and pass.
Lovera
But to X these auction was not told to be a mistake (it needs sure that it dosen't get to realize). On these days i seen insted that anyone use to do it (i.e. 2♠ , X). Why ?
gszes
x It is really tough to find an auction where I am uncomfortable converting to spades or clubs at whatever level partner deems appropriate. While we may miss a spade contract once in a while, we will also find a lot more club contracts. Passing with this much power just seems wrong when there are so many ways for things to go right and so few problems. P will only pass with xx and a total min and no 4 card major and normally I would prefer to defend those hands anyway.
