Trumpace
Matchpoints, none vul. You are dealer and hold: Qxx, Ax, Jxx, AKxxx You open 1D, LHO passes, partner bids 1H, RHO passes, you bid 1NT, LHO comes in with 2C and partner bids 2S. Is 2S by partner game forcing? Assume a pickup partner.

mr1303
It would be if you play Checkback and the auction was unopposed. Not so sure after intervention, but it looks forcing for 1 round anyway.
P_Marlowe
Hi, not game forcing, but forcing for one round, i.e. at least inv. values, asking for 3cardsupport in hearts. Bid 3C, asking for stopper in Clubs, which should show maxmal values for my bidding, intending to pass 3D, 3H, 3S and 3NT from partner partner. With kind regardsMarlowe
Walddk
One round force for me, 10+. Responder is allowed to pass a rebid he doesn't like. I have a super max, so I will co-operate with 3♣, denying 3 hearts and a club stopper. If my 1NT could be with or without 4 spades, 3♣ also denies 4 spades. Double !
another vote for "forcing one round"
Trumpace
Would a 3C bid be game forcing then? I think 3C should be game forcing... What about a double? should that show spades but not a forcing hand, as 2S already is forcing one round (I think that should be the case if 1NT denies 4 spades). This is matchpoints and 2S might easily be a good spot... Sorry if the question seems too basic. Thanks for the responses.
Rebound
Essentially, once you rebid 1NT, the most partner can achieve, short of bidding game, is a 1-round force. After 1♦-(P)-1♥-(P)-1NT-(2♣)- I would take 3♣ as looking for a club stopper for NT and would bid 3♦. It's difficult to force the auction for long after a NT rebid so as responder you need to be aware of that and determine the final contract asap. Guest Jlall
What about a double? Good question, definitely not basic. I think one could play X as either A ) penaltyB ) cards with no clear direction (optional)C ) takeout I really dont like C. Usually you can find another bid with a t/o X shape but just a minimum hand (like 4531 bidding 2H). A and B both have alot of merit. I don't know what "expert standard" would be but I think A is slightly better in this auction.
