I don't know enough about this version of Kaplan Inversion you are playing, but presumably 2D shows at least 9 red cards. So, 3S needs to promise 6 goods at least, similar to disciplined weak 2.

4S for me. Even at BAM. Every reason to think I have a ruffing value and hearts aren't running.

the 3S bid presumably shows <13 hcp and 6+ spades... i pass this i think... the question is, had partner opened a weak 2 would i go to 4... 4S can make easily enough, but too many things have to be right... first of all, you need no spade losers else one and a top diamond *and* either the heart being right or the A being right

i hope i'm not being too pessimistic, but i wouldn't bid 4S over a weak 2

Maybe not, but if you knew pard had the absolute max and a great suit would you go?

probably... but give him 6 in spades (A, Q) and the A.. there's still a possible spade loser, heart loser, 2 diamonds...

if you knew he had those cards specifically, would you go? you need (maybe, depending on his dist) 2 finesses to work... anything could be right, and i might be too pessimistic

Seems very close between pass and 4S. I would not consider 3NT.

I voted pass, but not with confidence.

Doesn't this hand have a queen extra compared to what I promised? Wouldn't you open

65 AJT9x QJT9 K8?

(Although a little late, happy birthday btw!)
