twcho
I am a big fan of Vugraph but of course it is impossible for me to view it all the time. Luckily, BBO has made a vugraph archive which is great for anyone who want to review the actual action. In addition to that, the commentators' chat was also logged. However, most of the time the logged chat is not sychronized with the hands. Many time we can see that the commentator is not talking about the current hand or sometimes they are just in another match. How can the chat log synchronized with the hands? Can we log them ourselves when we view the vugraph? Can anyone help?
mrdct
Most of the time the auto-archived LIN files do have the commentary in sync, but sometimes it doesn't quite do it properly for reasons beyond my knowledge. Anecdotally, the problem seems to arise when multiple simulataneous broadcasts are made and when presentations have been interupted. If you are watching the vugraph presentation and have "Log Chat" enabled, the commentary (together with any other private conversations you are having) will be logged, however it will be quite difficult to readily identify which hands the commentators are talking about. In some of the vugraph presentations I've done, I've typed "================12" or similar as I've redealt to each new board. I've often thought that it would be a good idea for a system generated message to come up automatically when each new board comes up; perhaps even with a sponsor's message (e.g. Board 12 is brough to you by the new Ford Escape) or some event info (e.g Board 12 of Australian Open Trials - website link).
