uday
Does anyone, with the exception of BIL and the French CWF club, actually play in private clubs (ie, in tables inside private clubs) or are all the private clubs simply a means of organizing tourneys? Chamaco
My understanding is that some pros teachers also use it as a more "private" place where to lecture/mentor their students groups.
Rebound
Speaking for myself only, I rarely remember they exist since I haven't the foggiest idea how one would join any of them.
luke warm
i don't... even roland's 2/1 (and i don't even remember if it's private or not) is hard for me to use because his tourneys are almost always at times i'm not home
cherdano
The junior flight club hosts review sessions of the hands in its tourneys (thanks to reisig, cascade and others for reviewing) at a table in its private club.
sceptic
I think you hit the nail on the head, 2 main clubs, but there are teachers that use the facilities, may be email them directly and ask them to justify their continuance, or may be you can charge a small fee for private clubs, that way only people with an interest or genuine use will open them, I base this solely on the amount of times I g to BIL and pass through the private club lobby and never see anyone in the other clubs
DonBel
The Walddk 2/1 Club was at one time an active playing area, including teaching table lessons from Roland. At present, it is used only for organizing our weekly tournaments. We would like to make the club more active, with lessons and a playing area in addition to tournaments, but we need a volunteer to help us set up a web site. The web site would have the 2/1 System Lessons available, tournament results with points and ratings maintained by the club and a private discussion area for Club members. Any volunteers out there who can set up a web site for the Walddk 2/1 Club? If so, please contact me.

Abadaba
Abalucy holds Advisory/TD meetings there and will use it if we ever get around to a swiss team format - does that count?
Stars
Hi all, that's right, In my own club, the Stars bridge club, we don't play as frequently as BIL, or CWF, or some public clubs but I try when I can to set table with members in, when they want to play private, without kibitzers or with only a few. Gerben42
Sure, I can build a website! I assume Roland was doing this himself before? I'll coordinate with him.
Walddk
Sure, I can build a website! I assume Roland was doing this himself before? I'll coordinate with him. Thanks Gerben, but that has already been taken care of by Martin (Yapuka). Our new web site is under construction and will likely be released within a month or so. It looks very promising at this point I can tell you. Roland P.S. Don't assume anything as to my skills concerning web sites. I may be a capable vugraph coordinator, but when it comes to computers in general terms I am absolutely clueless. Where is the on/off button again? pclayton
Im a mentor (occasionally) at BIL. Im curious why you are asking about these?
ecepal
HiYes in jr flight clubs we do have hand analysis after tournements ,andon thursdays we started lessons and I am aiming to increase the lessons,So it is a good use for teaching aims. And I have some more ideas but cannot use all of it at once.So I would say I use private club facilities for good reasons. A penny what it's worth :))
