lychee
Hi, I'm rather new here, so please forgive me if I haven't read enough topics before asking this question. I'm a Linux user (yes, I've read the posts about using cedega/vmware/qemu) and the most useful/interesting post I've seen on this topic is in the http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?sho...&hl=linux&st=45 post by hrothgar. I don't really understand the software development model of BBO, but would it be possible for the developers (Fred Gitelman, Sheri Winestock, and Uday Ivatury I think?) to release the protocol everytime it is changed? So that others can work on developing a client which works on other OS'es? I mean, I think BBO is great, and that's why this is an itch that I do want to seriously consider scratching, if possible... This will solve the problem of not taking up the developers' time as well as allowing accomodation for protocol changes. Unless, of course, this is a closed kind of system... Any comments? Thanks..
uday
Here is an old post on this topic http://forums.bridgebase.com/index.php?showtopic=513 Has Fred changed his mind since? I don't have any reason to think so. I'll ask him.
uday
BTW, I could not tell whether you have BBO working on your linux. I know that our yellow Gerardo ( gerardo@.... ) uses it routinely, and I'm sure he would not mind if you emailed him .
