Thank you in advance for any suggestions...... Last night, I opened 1D, was doubled, the wife redoubled holding 2 Diamonds and I ended up playing 1D redoubled against a 9 card Diamond holding by opponents....Luckily got a top, but ...... One other idea with weak hand and no ♦ tolerance always takeout the double to another suit even with 0 pts. So passing infers tolerance for diamonds or a hand interested in penalizing which is shown by later doubling. Perhaps this is crazy but avoid 2-2 fits with a minimum opposite a weak hand. Thanks guys; we are going to adopt these suggestions. Before I reinvent the wheel, can you further suggest the continuations ?...eg as in : 1D- (x) -xx transfer the Hearts -(Pass) -1H - (Pass) - ?.... phoenix214 Posted June 14, 2015 Report Share Posted June 14, 2015 Accepting the transfer on level 1 shows 3 pieces, bidding 1NT denies having 3 card support.2M can be preemptiveIf you bid again, just treat the sequences same as for example 1D-1H, 1NT with some modifications due to knowing partners amount of major support. Kungsgeten Posted June 15, 2015 Report Share Posted June 15, 2015 If playing nebulous diamond I would play similar to short club with transfers: 1D-(Dbl)-Rdbl/1H-(P);1M = Accept of transfer. Shows balanced hand with 2-3 card support, or minimum unbal with 3 card support.2M = 4 card supportOther = Natural unbalanced. 1NT could be used to show something like 6322 or perhaps the other major.
