Maybe I'm wrong, but I would have thought it'd be best to not raise this to 4. My 3 bid still showed 15-22 total points, and I think it could be made better if my hand were limited as soon as I bid 2 so that I couldn't have a strong hand since I would have bid 3 if then if I did. So maybe it just thought that I had on the upper end of 15-22 points and could've been prevented if it showed something more like 15-17. But other than that, I like to compete in actions like this one with hands weaker than what I'd go up to 3 with in an uncontested auction. I wish it would more easily realize that your hand isn't necessarily all that strong if you're just competing and were pushed to 3. Also its hand is pretty bad. Diamonds are all on the wrong side to be useful and I'm likely short in them given how many it and east have and how many spades I have. And it only has 1 spade. So it barely has anything useful other than a king of hearts.

Or you could just say it's my fault for bidding 3 but it really is to your advantage to play 3 as compared to letting them play 3. In fact, I made 3, I just couldn't make 4.

Edit: if it's hard to see, press ctrl + a few times.

It's hard to diagnose without seeing the explanations, but I would think that 1 limits your hand to 18 total points. By the time you bid 3, GIB thinks you are showing an absolute maximum with a self-sufficient suit. GIB also thinks you are saying that you can make 3 opposite a Yarborough. (If you can't, you don't want to go -200 instead of allowing opponents to make a partscore.) If you can make 3 opposite a yarb, his two kings ought to provide you with a trick to make 4.

Edit: You have to strongly suspect that opponents are going to compete to 3m over 2. I'd like to see the explanation of bidding 3 over 2.

I think the explanations were that 2 was 12-22 total points with 6+, and 3 was 15-22 total points with twice rebiddable spades. And I think it would have been 18-22 points if I just went straight to 3 over 2 but I don't remember exactly.

Given the bidding, I would say that with my hand it'd be a safe assumption that my partner does not have a Yarborough and that the other team is missing some points I don't have given that they didn't seem to be all that strong with how they bid. So I was kind of already taking its points into account in the 3 bid.
