lycier Posted June 4, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 Hi Fred,Rain and Uday ： Here feedback about app in chinese. 1- There are some messy codes,I can give you a screenshot. 2- The worse design ideaIt indicates there is " No self update functionality ".BBO should know self update functionality is very important for our chinese users in China mainland.If without self update functionality ,how to get upgrate App quickly?especially for Apple users,it needs some days after Apple approve it every time,it is a obstacle to China users in fact.Google had left China in April 2010,it means that China users can't get it from google store.If with self update functionality,we just need to release update information,it can solve many potential problems,and all of China users can get newest version immediately because we bypass the Google store and apple store.No doubt,this is the only one of the fastest and the most efficient way of updating. 3- I suggest BBO would better apply " Two dimensional scanning code" technology.Of importance,two dimensional scanning code have been making more and more popular in our China,it is a main part of Android/Apple life.If BBO can creat a two dimensional scanning code on Android/Apple App,and then put it on the right of bbo home page,I promise that all of China users can get newest upgraded immediately after release upgraded information. So if they set their device language to simplified Chinese then that should be the language shown. If they set their device language to English, then that is the language shown. Sorry for all the English - I find it very hard to write in Chinese. So it's just easier for me to type all the explanations in English. We found a bug :) Somehow the traditional and simplified Chinese language settings got switched. But to address your other points, the reason some phrases remain untranslated is because if our translators didn't translate a phrase, it will be left in English. News articles don't get translated in general, but those are actually HTML with URL, so if you open them with your browser, you may have automated translation tools like google translator that could help. When an article shows up in Chinese, it's because it was written by someone like Lycier or other Chinese BBOers. On web vs mobile difference - due to space constraint we can't make our mobile app identical in features to the web versions, though the goal is to make mobile as functional as possible. This version of the app (3.91) adds the friends/following feature introduced a few months ago on BBO, as well as other features like a free weekly Instant Tournament game. One final important note! This is a subtle change, but in the past, web BBO and app BBO actually could not display Chinese characters in the news headline. In addition, if you tried to send a BBO Mail message in Chinese, it shows as weird characters. The most recent version of web BBO and mobile app fixes this terrible bug. -----------------------I want to say a quick Thank You!!! to Lycier here btw. He has helped us tremendously this app release, to distribute the android version fast to Chinese players as well as provided good feedback. Although I hope to know Chinese BBOers more and in fact I do know the few who play Robot Reward a lot with me :D, right now Lycier is one of our closest friend. I can't even read/type Chinese well, but with his translation help I was able to communicate with everyone better. So Thank You Lycier and everyone!
