ahydra
MPs, nobody vul, you deal. Opps are good players. Playing 4cM weak NT in case that makes a difference. [hv=pc=n&n=sj94hakqj2dk3ck72&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1hpp2d]133|200[/hv] ahydra
PhantomSac
I would double. Pass would be an option to me but at MP w/w it pays to be bidding usually.

Jinksy
I would double. Pass would be an option to me but at MP w/w it pays to be bidding usually. That was my first thought, but then I wondered why P shouldn't make that decision if in the pass-out seat and known to be very weak. I would have thought doubling suggested better shape or values? mike777
agree with the above If opening 1nt was an option that is ok. if not ok.in any case this is a rare situation with opp passing.
ahydra
Interesting the votes go to X here despite not holding 4 spades - though I guess if partner bids 2S you don't mind (him) playing the 4-3 fit. My choice at the table which was 2H. LHO doubled this for takeout on ♠Q10xx ♥10x ♦x ♣AQ8xxx, converted by RHO and it was down two after a minor-suit defensive crossruff. The main point of this thread was just checking that I wasn't going insane thinking maybe my hand was too flat to act again. On the actual hand, double could make life rather fiddly for partner who had ♠K72 ♥75 ♦109654 ♣J105. Out of interest would people find the winning penalty pass here? ahydra
