Currently, when we are asked to pair up in a tourney, the TCR/MCR of the person asking is shown.

It would be helpful if this was shown for anyone on the partnership list for a tourney.

 

then a person could not invite poyenyial runners.

I think we consider showing the TCR of everyone in the partnership desk to be too much of a privacy violation. However, when someone invites you, you have a right to know about them, so we expose it.

A person w/ a high TCR is proud of it and would not care. A person who runs does not deserve some artificially constructed "privacy" concern.

 

And the "lost connection" argument is a straw man. No connections are bad enough to earn a 60% TCR.

As a general rule, businesses are expected to protect the privacy of all their customers. You don't get to decide that certain customers are not deserving of privacy.

Perhaps, but an 80% TCR certainly could be from a bad connection. Where should we draw the line?

It doesn't matter why someone's TCR is what it is; what matters is that it is what it is. (Assuming, of course, that the member has played enough tournaments that the TCR is an accurate measure of the players ability to finish tournaments.)

 

I don't honestly know if this is the current situation, but how would this be...

Players should be given the option of displaying their TCR when they join the partnership list. If they consent, their TCR would then be available to anyone else who is on the partnership list who also has agreed to display their TCR.
