Incorrect GIB explanation of Michaels Advance

1C 2C P 3C alerted as 3+ 3+ in Majors.

E. GIB actually had hearts and spade void (V,AKQ7,Q10987642,6)

 

Believing this alert, I pulled N GIB's penalty double of W Gib's 4S bid.

 

LOL, obviously W GIB believed E also!

If 2♣ shows 12+ total points and 3♣ shows 14+ total points with a double fit, why is 3♣ only forcing to 3♥?

 

It's also strange that 5♥ is described as a cue bid and West passes it.

I never think the explanations of Gib are incorrect.

1- I think the key problem is definition of 3♣,according to Gib CC,cuebid 3♣ promises 3+♥ and 3+♠,so 3♣ for this hand is not a inapropriate bid since voidness in ♠.

why is 3♣ only forcing to 3♥?

If you think "forcing to 3♥" is a good option,how to signoff 3♥? so here,no problem.

At first,mediesel cuebid have promised 3+♥ and 3+♠,then after ♠ trump confirmed by Gib W,5♥ is also a cuebid with 3+card support for sure,pass should be a playable option.

Fixed 3♣ call for next version not to mislead about lengths ( i.e. using with just one of them ).

 

However will be addressed about possibility to be general GF and partner to differentiate his strength over such forcing.
