What next?
suokko
Dummy has the ♦3. But I would still continue two more diamonds to put declarer in, Declarer probably has something like x AQJxxxx QT8 xx and I don't see any realistic way to prevent declarer from scoring the diamond trick. But with some luck diamond continue might be able to setup an extra trump trick for partner later when we get in black ace to play the last remaining diamond. The problem is that he might have x AQJxxxx 109xx x. If you are going to continue diamonds, you should play a low one not the king, to cater for the 7-4 shape. It's hard to make any inferences from this sort of auction (other than the inference that I'd prefer to be somewhere else), but what I do would depend on how bad I think my RHO is. suokko
If he's got that, you just have to switch to a low club at trick two. ♣7 in dummy beats ♣6. we would need a better spot to provide a diamond discard for our partner. If you are going to continue diamonds, you should play a low one not the king, to cater for the 7-4 shape. I forgot to take into account that possibility but it is also possible that partner has 4 small diamonds making wrong to play small to next trick. This biding imo doesn't give any indication what declarer has. Unless there is some previous experience from favorable preempts from the declarer. Fluffy
Declarer had ♠xx♥AQJ97xx♦Qxx♣x only a low spade should warrant +800, but this time ♠A+ spade also succeed.
