Bbradley62
What's the limit on having a single section in Robodupes? Does it vary by scoring method and/or type (BBO vs ACBL, etc)? What are the advantages of having sections? Wouldn't we get a more true score if everyone were scored as one section?
PhantomSac
More total masterpoints are awarded with multiple sections.
ArtK78
It takes 15 tables to get to the maximum point award in a 12-board ACBL BBO game. I believe that the sections are split up to create the most possible 15 or more table sections, so there is a split at 30 tables, another at 45 tables, and so on. Perhaps our admins can confirm this. Yep, sections split as close to 15 tables as possible, to aim at max masterpoint award per section.
Bbradley62
Ooohhh... It appears that scores are calculated across the whole field, and sections only exist for the awarding of masterpoints.
barmar
That's ACBL's standard procedure for multi-section events.
