ArtK78
This hand is from a Sectional Swiss Teams event that I played in this afternoon. IMPs converted to VPs (20 VP scale). Six 9 board matches. This is match #4, and you are among the leaders. [hv=pc=n&s=st65hq6dt3caj7652&n=sak7haj984dakqcq9]133|200[/hv] Assume that, in an uncontested auction, you arrive in 6♣ from the North hand (the strong hand with Q9 of clubs) and get a ♠Q lead. Plan the play. (Sorry, I don't have the bidding. I held the North hand, but arrived at 3NT at my table. This is the play problem presented at the other table)
Hanoi5
I finesse both round suits by leading the Queen. Clubs first.

MrAce
come to hand with a spade ruff to play a club from hand Which spade ruff? I am assuming you suggest AKQ ♦ and discard a spade, then ruff 3rd spade? If you are going to play like this, then take ♥ finesse first, which you need anyway, and if it fails you can not effort to lose a club, which keeps the option to play W for 108 doubleton club? ArtK78
I don't know that it matters, but I did get the auction from one of my teammates. I confirmed that the lead was the ♠Q.

ArtK78
So, if you win the ♠Q opening lead in hand and lead the ♣Q, it is covered by the King. You win the Ace, West following with the 3. You now lead the ♥Q from dummy which is also covered by the King. You win the Ace, East following with the 7. Continue please. It is tempting to run ♣9 unless covered, in case West was dealt ♣KT84 but this loses when East has ♣T3 doubleton and ♥KTxxx or♣T83 and the wrong major shortageSo perhaps, if West follows with a low ♣, it is better just to win ♣J, hoping for a 3-2 split.
