zenbiddist
1. 1♦ (3♦* stopper ask) X = what is double here? Values or a diamond honour?2. (1♣) 1♠ (X) XX = what is redouble? misfit suggesting penalties? a spade honour? Thanks! John
aguahombre
IMO, the standard for #1 is a Neg double -- treating the 3D bid as if it were a Club overcall. #2.. Dunno. We like high honor doubleton; but I don't think there is a "standard". Some say high honor doubleton with some values, we don't. "Tolerance" 2-card fit in spades with some values and a flaw to prevent bidding NT seems popular as well.
P_Marlowe
#1 no idea, but the seq. is seldom enough. We would play this as showing a top honor. #2 undiscussed this a sure way for getting burned, ... for us it would show power, and the willingness to play 1SXX, Rosenkrantz (top honor is certainly sensible). With kind regardsMarlowe
