Double or No Double

+1 and you will get a heart lead against 3 much more often than you will go for a number.

Don't just say +1; upvote!

I am just wondering whether Lebensohl is played here, or whether doesn't make a lot of sense when we are a passed hand and partner had nothing to say over . (LOL and I'd really better ask my partner's opinion!)

2N 2 places to play...

Sorry, the General chart in the ACBL only allows NT overcalls that show multiple suits below 4NT if at least one of the suits is specified. Of course ACBL regs only apply to Anglo-North America and Mexico.

Thanks Bill. Had played this in mid-chart events before but now I'm not sure it's even allowed there.

Does anyone know why Central America and the Caribbean are separated from the rest of North America? They have like 1500 players.

Anyway, back to the question. This seems like a typical prebalance; I think we just have to do it as a matter of policy; we have easily half the deck -- 17 to 23 is where the LAW applies to part-score competition, and we could have 24. Yes, Partner can bid 2NT as a scramble to pick a minor. IMO, Leben should not be used in OBAR auctions, although some people use the name indiscriminately.

I did not look up the wording, but I am 100% sure that who wrote the GCC intended to exclude 2NT in this position showing two arbitrary suits. It is the standard meaning.
