Actually jump 3S is unnecessary. If Gib S cuebid 2,let partner pick a major, maybe everything is good.It seems that Gib can't handle 4-4 majors?

Will be addressed for improvement as at first glance "1/ - Pass - 1NT - Double" doesn't promise majors ( at least not both ). Passed hand could lean to it, but it should be described which at the moment is obviously missed to be separated.

And for consistency it's not quite clear cuebidding opened major promise necessarily majors.

Let say you had 5332 with 5 cards in the same minor, or worst 6322. Opening is still 3+ , so you won't have really option to express your hand.

Opener could be 4M-4M and 3-2 minors.

I don't understand, surely as a passed hand doubler will be 4-4 in majors Maybe 4-3 but at least promises 3-3 in majors and that would be rare as a passed hand. With 5 or 6 cards in opener's minor surely you pass as you wern't good enough to open, no point in coming into auction when opponent has your best suit sure could be 3-card suit but odds are against it.

Given that N was a passed hand, a cuebid by S after the double is about 1000% clear cut. This hand is a perfect example. Why should S guess what N's longer major is? And given passed hand status, what is the down side of the cuebid?

The other issue, once again given N's passed hand status, why is GIB S jumping with 9 count with no long suit? Game is very remote, partner should not be punished for re-entering the auction with a double.

??? It's 100% clear to me that cue bidding (1m)-p-(1nt)-2m shows both majors. And double in that position is takeout of m. There's just a ton of times you have both majors and want to compete. Responder often has minor support since no major bid. You want to compete with 5-5 in the majors and 4-4 in the majors a ton more than you want to be able to bid their minor to play.

But usually you don't have to! Just defend 1nt. You are generally OK defending 1nt undoubled unless the opponents psyched, and in that case maybe partner can scrape up a double. You only need 7 tricks in NT and you have tempo of opening lead. It's rare that you can both make 2m and you can't beat 1nt.
