steve2005
http://tinyurl.com/ml6ruqz At least passing blackwood saved the board. No double no trouble. How ridiculous! Even if you were bidding to make you wouldn't need 21 hcp, you could be and usually are bidding on distribution.
paulg
Have you seen the companion thread, "My partner takes a phantom and I get the blame!"? :) :)
iandayre
I suppose it bears repeating once again. The entire database of bid explanations needs a thorough overhaul to remove nonsensical ones such as this. Sure GIB, I passed the first time with 21. Do you know what would really improve GIB? If it were able to recognize when it is playing against other GIB opponents who are not bidding on air but whose actions show the same values it would have. Now THAT I realize is too much to ask. But getting rid of the many, many ridiculous bid explanations that exist is not at all too much to ask, it is what we deserve as paying customers. iandayre
"passed the first time"? I am getting a little sloppy in my reading, need to pay closer attention. Thank you.
georgi
Thanks for reporting it. Fixed in next version where your raise won't be taken as promising GF, once they claimed such. So all it would show would be : 1+ ♠
1eyedjack
So all it would show would be : 1+ ♠ So any other call shows Spade void?
georgi
No, if you pass you doesn't necessarily mean you're void, but you don't want to defend 4♥. In other words - no suitable call. Even same hand but having 0 HCP, and xxx.xx.xxxxx.xxx would pass. To bid 4♠, conditions are same for GIB, just it won't promise the GF's values. Same if human does it. 1+ comes from the less required length to provide fit, partner promises 7+ solid trumps.
