If the opponents bid major(s) at a high level I can bid NT at the appropriate level. A splinter does not show the main features of this hand, great club support and good diamonds. The choice is between ♥ and ♠. Imo a ♥ splinter is better, because we allow partner to (not) cuebid ♠ which can give us some valuable information.
