whereagles
MPs. Adv/expert field. [hv=pc=n&s=s9hqj42dkqj5ck986&d=n&v=n&b=5&a=p1c]133|200[/hv] Would you bid 1♦? Follow up will come soon.
gordontd
I'd pass and hope to be able to double spades on the next round if it's not too high.
Jinksy
I don't see anything to gain by overcalling. We're not gamehunting, and it gives the opps more room to describe their hands and more info about how to play (which they're likely to do if they own the spades). I'd like a diamond lead, but if P finds another one, I doubt it will do any harm.
whereagles
Suppose you bid 1♦ for the lead (like I did). Now it goes pass 1♣ 1♦ passpass dbl ?? Any ideas?
Fluffy
Uh oh... looks like 1♦X is going to be nasty perhaps 1♥ + 2♣ later its our best shot to get -500 only.
WesleyC
I wouldn't bid 1D. Given I did, it feels much safer to pass after the reopening double, trusting partner to rescue us if they try and penalize.
mr1303
What Gordon said. I don't want to overcall on a 4 card suit with a fairly mediocre hand.
