This new GIB is TERRIBLE

So in the first three boards I've played with the new GIB it's managed to cuebid an ace it doesn't have (while bypassing one it does), and forced to game with an uninteresting 10 opposite a non-fitting minimum opening.

[hv=bbo=y&myhand=M-60205023-1419899761]360|270[/hv]

[hv=bbo=y&myhand=M-60205076-1419899761]360|270[/hv]

For future reference, the way to make these diagrams readable is:

  • replace everything up to and including the question mark with "{hv="
  • add "}360|270{/hv}" to the end

using brackets instead of the squiggly brackets

I agree, both of those auctions are terrible. I doubt they have anything to do with the latest revision, though. I suspect the old GIB would have bid them the same.

Thanks for reporting.

Both things will be fixed in next v33.

First is not related with last version. It was same problem since at least 4 versions ago.

Second is partly related with new version.

A question about the second hand: Opener did not make a support double, so has less than 3 hearts. This guarantees that opener's club suit is at least 4 cards long. Can GIB make that inference and realize it is reasonable to support Clubs over the opponents 2S?

I have to agree that 3 is a much better call than 3. Even double would be better than 3. The North hand is not a game force.
