gszes
3d dia suit quality just good enough to convince me to try this. I have already limitedmy hand with first x and my unwillingness to x again further limits my power so p willrarely go wrong in deciding what to do (assuming I have not already created a disaster). Opps have had an opportunity to reevaluate their hands based on the bidding and have decided2s was sufficient. That makes this bid more appealing as the major risks of x and opps gettingto 4s now seem to severly mitigated.
eagles123
I would pass, we've already made a neg x and p couldnt bid over 2s. ok our D are nice but its only a 6 count

steve2005
If your NV I bet most people would bid 3♦. Partner probably has a weak NT without 5♣, 4♦ and 4♥ or they may have found a bid. You have 2♠ so you have a good chance to have a fit presumably in ♦. If you just meekly pass you can chalk up 2♠ and you probably lose a part score battle. You also may luck out and push opp to 3-level possibly down.

GrahamJson
Pass. Why give oppo a second chance to bid 4S?
mgoetze
IMPsAre you sure this is what you meant to write? Because the only way I would even consider something other than pass is if it were Matchpoints and we were NV.
whereagles
Finding pard with 3 diamonds means he has 3334 or 2335 like 95% of the time, in which case he has a weak NT and we are outgunned. So pass.
Jinksy
I passed, for all the reasons above. But it reminded me of something Justin said recently about people not treating part score IMP competitions the right way, since a double part-score swing is worth a lot. Here's the hands: [hv=pc=n&s=sk52hjt6d75cajt53&w=sj3hak2dkj43ckq96&n=saqt987hq73d82c87&e=s64h9854daqt96c42&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=1c1sd2sppp]399|300[/hv] 2♠ and 3♦ both make on the nose. Though now that I look at it, west obviously should have opened 1N or Xed.

Maybe there is something more to be said for balancing if you were playing a weak NT system.
Fluffy
weak nt is not standard, 1♣ opener with 4-4 minors is not standard, overbidding twice on the same hand is rarely good.
