Partner is a solid citizen. He would normally pass with a single heart stopper.

PhantomSac
Is your 2N opener natural or artificial? Also did X deny 5 spades? A 6 card minor? Or is it literally just any hand with no shortness
Fluffy
it denied long suits. 5M and 6m will be rare and only with bad quality. 2NT opening is minors.
whereagles
stay fixed. pass if you really cant stand pass, try a quantitative 4NT (it is quant, right?)
Jinksy
What would partner's pass mean over 3♥?
WesleyC
The problem feels impossible without more info regarding partners options. What does 3NT show? What about pass/double?
Fluffy
What would partner's pass mean over 3♥? Forcing pass = take out
Jinksy
I will pass. Having the ♥ suit multiply stopped seems good for game and bad for slam, since it suggests fewer points where we'll need them as sources of tricks. If I bid 4N, I'd expect P to go to slam with a decent 18 count or better, which I'd expect to leave us struggling for tricks, and possibly off two cashers. wank
pass. if slam's making, it was more likely partner's job to show more enthusiasm over 3hx. in 33 hcp 6nt terms (6c will often be easier on less, e.g 18, a kq a kq, but we aren't introducing jxxxx) partner needs to hold 5 points above minimum. we only hold 4 points above our minimum. gszes
p probably has somewhere btn 17-22 for the 3n bid. That's a prettylarge range but the minimum opposite our 12 should make 4n pretty darn safe. That's important because we most likely want to be inslam if p has around 21 or 22 especially if we have a club fit. I do not know the particulars of your system but I would make oneslam try. In my case that is 4c (natural) but 4n is also perfectly reasonable.
mgoetze
4n is also perfectly reasonable.About as reasonable as playing 6NT on a random 31HCP combined, or inserting random linebreaks into your posts.

Fluffy says pass=take out, but wouldn't opener pass with a monster with some slam interest (ie something like a natural 2NT opening)?
Fluffy
My thoughts were that partner will not volunteer a bid with ♥Kx normally. so my thougths were that he either had 3 good hearts, or perhaps solid minor. If he has a solid minor slam might be cold ♠10x♥Kx♦AKQxxx♣AQx or perhaps ♠Axx♥Kx♦AKQxxxx♣x it could as well be down from the start if he had ♣KQ as 2 aces woud be missing. However most of the time the slam would depend on opponents not finding the club lead, given that the sponsor was on lead I though it was a fair shot, so I bid 4NT. Was rewarded with 1370, when partner bid 6♦ on ♠Axx♥Kx♦AKQxxx♣Qx

jillybean
And you got the ♥ lead, this sounds like clubbing baby seals. Nice auction anyway, I enjoy hearing your rationale :)
