Cascade
If you raised how much weaker before you pass? If you passed how much stronger before you bid?[hv=d=s&v=n&s=s10xxha10xd10xxxcqxx]133|100|Scoring: IMPP P 1♠ 2♣?[/hv]
mike777
hmm, 10.5 loser hand.
ochinko
I raise. I have the fit and the points, so I won't mind the flatness and the abundance of losers. For me to pass you'll have to replace HA with HK, or CQ with CJ, or two of 10's with x's.
whereagles
Borderline, given pard opened 3rd seat. But I think I bid. If something, I shut out the red suits...
Free
Support, otherwise my partner thinks I'm short... 2-level is safe enough usually.
mr1303
With K of H Q of clubs I raiseWith K of H J of clubs I pass
Gerben47
2♠, you have already limited yourself so strong raises are also limited.I pass if the Q♣ is a 10.
the hog
Playing a 5 card M system I cannot understand how anyone could find a pass. Playing a 4 card M system, Id pass as this hand has no ruffing values and the S support is poor. With the same shape and Qxx of S instead of C, again a raise is automatic. inquiry
Well you might not consider anything other than 2♠, but I certainly do. My distribution is bad, my Offensive to Defensive Ratio is slanted towards defensive. Partner opened in third chair, and maybe lighter than normal. So playing normal 2/1 GF without frills, I would pass. Of course, I like some frills, and if I have transfer advances on heres, such that 2♥ here by me show "solid raise" to 2♠, and 2♠ by me is "weak raise", the I would bid 2♠. Notice playing 5 card majors, the LAW probably dictates a 2♠ raise. And I am not overly concerned about 2♠ getting punished (it might be), my concern that when I bid 2♠ partner might not be in on the joke and bid again getting us much to high on a nothing hand. With transfer advances, he (and the opponents) already are in on my "joke" raise to 2♠ so we should be able to avoid going any higher than 2♠ when it is wrong to do so. TimG
In borderline cases, I generally consider my holding in partner's suit. Here, I don't want to encourage a spade lead (should LHO come to life), so I pass. Given the same strength and shape, but with a higher honor in partner's suit, I would raise. luke warm
i'd bid 2S and give serious thought to doubling 3C, if rho bid it.. the ♥A is a beautiful card... strangely enough i'd be more likely to pass if the ace was in spades
Fluffy
Pass, ,I would raise if I didn't had 4333 or I had a J somewhere.
