 -     -     -     Pass

 2!   Dbl   2NT!  Pass

 3!   Dbl   3!   Pass

 3!   Dbl   4    ? ?

2D = multi, weak two in major or several strong variety

2Dx = no agreement (pickup partner)

2NT = forcing asking bid

3C = minimum hand iwth either major

3Cx = Still no agreement

3D = show the MAJOR you do not hold

3S = I have 6 hearts

3Sx = Sitll no agreement

4H = to play

Your bid. BTW, this was NOT a psyche-restricted event... So east could, but does not necessarily, have a 4 preempt and was just fooling with you.. see why pyches being allowed makes the game more challenging. If you consider pass, consider EAST with 5Heart and zero points... but if you bid, consider him with 4504, 4414 ane 3415 patterns and 12/15 points.

And your bid is?

Bonus try to describe your partner's hand.

I think I would pass. Too flat a hand (and weak as well) to bid freely over 4.

BTW, it's not likely East was psychic with 5 s unless he had both majors. If he was weak and 5-card , he would be sorry if he found pd with 6-card and got numbers.

NORTH didn't bid direct 2nt/2h/2s, so north won't have 5 card major, and could be either hand as follow,

1) kind of balanced hand, 19+,

2) 4s, 6+ club suit, good hand.

with 1), south should X to penalize opps;

with 2), bid on is winning choice, hope north won't get too much excited. (both sides have 10 card fits).

so 2) seems more like to me regarding to opps 4h active bids, i guess east holds singleton or void club.

I would not say it was a psyche if east went through the asking process even with a weak hand and long hearts.

What does partner have? With a huge 4054/4045 partner could have bid 4 over 3, so I tend to expect he has at least one heart. Given east's bidding, he probably has length in both majors, maybe 4-5 spades and 3 hearts. That means partner is probably 4144/4153/4135 (partner might have doubled initially with a five-card major, but would likely have bid 3 over 3 with that hand, so I'll place him with four spades.

Partner must have a very good hand, so I'll double 4 to show my balanced hand and maybe slow partner down a bit. If partner does have a huge 4054 type and forgot to bid 4 over 3, he has another chance -- my double can hardly be a trump stack, just a statement of preference for defense.

Pass.

Lets even assume i know pass isnt the best alternative, lets say i know pass will give me 40% score, i would still pass, because if i guess right, lets say 5D i will get 65% but if i guess wrong i will get 20%. (yes i know its imps but easier to explain)

This is a tactical resson to pass, when you have one bird in hand , dont dump it and guess where the 2 birds are hiden.

In this case i dont even think there is a better alternative to passing.

And anyway partner seems to have his mouse stuck on the double button so dont warry he will double this too. :)
