Cascade
Close, well it depends what you consider close I suppose. One more good card and I think it would be fine. However it is a good hand for a 2♠ overcall except perhaps the suit is on the poor side - but you can't have everything.

mcphee
Big time no on leaping, very likely to turn into weaping should you do that. The fact partner is already a passed hand makes me a bit cautious. We could easily have a game facing a fit in S, if pard has 4 trumps especially. If they hold only 2 the 2 level may even become a problem if you are forced to ruff and lose control of the hand. Will we buy the contract? After all they could easily be gin for 10 tricks. While not exactly down the middle I think I would double 2H, partner is not passing under the H suit and this may lead to the best spot and does not give up on S completely and rates to land you in an 8 card fit at least when partner is weak and they don't compete in H. 2S is my second choice. steve2005
http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif Good 15-losers but you have only 1 intermediate T♠ unless partner has a well-fitting rock your going to lose a lot of tricks! And if partner has a rock a normal overcall will do.
whereagles
No not even close but you're getting warmer.. :) anyway, probably not when pard is a passed hand. Just 2♠ for me.

I do not want to be associated with any part of the loser count method.http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif
