Jinksy
Is there a specific bit of software people use for producing the system note PDFs I often see?
Cthulhu D
It has the characteristic style of LaTEX: http://www.latex-project.org/ You too can have the joy of having compile errors in your documentation! It's good for maths, science and bridge though because it supports much nicer formatting of equations and symbols. A useful prior thread: http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/51967-latex-package-for-typesetting-bridge-related-stuff/ I don't recommend LaTEX to casual users, but it is the best sort of thing for this sort of thing short of a professional publishing package.
