fred
Please note: The prize referred to below has already been claimed. The version 4.1.2 contest is closed, but version 4.1.3 is now available and we are offering another prize for the first person to send me a bbolog.txt file that was generated by version 4.1.3. The choice of prizes are: 1) A free Bridge Master 2000 CD-ROM (retail price $60) 2) A free GIB CD-ROM (retail price $80) 3) A game with me as your partner in an ACBL tourney on BBO (retail price $152) You have to upgrade to version 4.1.3 to qualify for this contest and I strongly suggest that only people with reasonable computer skills get involved. In order to upgrade to 4.1.3, make you have exited the BBO program COMPLETELY and click on the link below: Click here to download version 4.1.3! When this program detects the error condition that we are trying to fix, you will hear the "welcome" sound (make sure sound effects are enabled in BBO and that the "welcome" sound itself is enabled - if you hear "welcome" when you log in then you are all set). When this happens a file named bbolog.txt will be created in your BBO folder (which is probably c:\bridge base online). Please send a copy of this file as an e-mail attachment to me (fred@bridgebase.com). IMPORTANT - Please read the following: We think that this problem only happens when you are actually playing bridge on BBO (as opposed to kibitzing, sitting in the lobby, etc.). Furthermore we think it happens in response to a mouse click under certain conditions that we do not completely understand yet. When you hear the unexpected "welcome" sound, please try to remember where you just clicked your mouse on the screen (or if you did not just click your mouse). Please include this information in the e-mail you send me if at all possible. Also, if this does happen when you are playing, when you finish the current hand if you could save the .lin file of that hand and send it to me that may also be helpful. If you don't know how to do this, don't worry about it. We are learning more about the "missing countries" bug with each version and hopefully this will be the last version that I will need to create in order to finally figure this out (famous last words). Thanks to everyone who has been helping me to collect data. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com

Good news for all of you who are really eager to win a prize is that I still don't have enough information to know what is going on so in all likelyhood there will be a version 4.1.4 and another prize offerred within the next day or so. Thanks to everyone who has been trying to help. Sorry I can't give prizes to all of you. Fred GitelmanBridge Base Inc.www.bridgebase.com
