Surely this can be narrowed down, maybe it can indicate penalty (I know that's asking a lot lol) and how is GIB hand twice rebiddable it has the 5H it promised for a transfer. 1eyedjack Posted September 14, 2014 Report Share Posted September 14, 2014 Also, while I agree that North (just) has the total point count promised for the 3D bid, and acknowledging that GIB has a phobia about describing bids as forcing or GF and then sticking to it, I thought that North's 3D bid is GF (absent intervention), at least by a non-passed hand, and I would suggest that he is not strong enough. There is no certainty of a fit. The suits are not robust enough to make up for lack of support, and 2 points for a Spade singleton do not improve the hand in 3N.
